The Hytte – Accessible self-catering holiday cottage near Hexham in Northumberland

March 28, 2019

The Hytte is award winning, accessible, self-catering accommodation for eight people.

Guests love the character of this Norwegian inspired traditional timber Hytte or mountain lodge with its grass roof. Luxury rated as five star Gold and designed from the outset as a great “get together” venue which has been adapted to meet the needs of guests with disabilities, ensuring all family members and friends can enjoy a holiday together.

We have recently commissioned a professional film maker to create a Video tour of the property. We wanted potential visitors to be able to have a fully immersive experience without physically being there. Guests are taken on a full tour of the property showing all of the rooms along with the garden parking area sauna and hot tub and we feel it showcases the property much better than photographs. The fourth bedroom has two height adjustable profiling beds, TV with DVD. WiFi is available throughout the property along with a smart TV. Full details can be found in our Access Guide on our The Hytte, Accessible self-catering holiday cottage, Hexham, Northumberlandwebsite.

"A very memorable visit.  A real education in how things should be done. Unusually, this property and the business have a great deal of the character of the owners built into it, but their enthusiastic approach is never forced. Their informed, thoughtful common-sense application to the practicalities means that guests with disabilities can totally relax here.

The level of accessibility and the necessary equipment never overwhelms, so that the overall impression is of the fabulous building and luxurious fixtures and fittings - Stunning.

This property would work for anyone; it's an absolute haven for people with disabilities and their carer’s perhaps not everything is possible here, but it makes you think it could be and that's a rare The Hytte – Accessible self-catering holiday cottage near Hexham in Northumberlandachievement."- North East Tourism Award Assessor
